"Concrete Jobs, Big or Small, We Can Haul Them All"

Did you ever consider what extra water does to concrete?Concrete should contain enough water to produce a mix that has a relativity stiff consistency, which works readily and does not segregate. Normally concrete delivered to projects has a slump of between three and four inches. If drivers add an excessive amount of water, it will affect the durability and reduce the strength of the concrete.
If you add only one gallon of water to a yard of properly designed 3000 psi concrete mix:
•YOU increase the slump about one inch
•YOU cut the compressive strength by as much as 200 psi
•YOU waste the effect of 1/4 bag of cement
•YOU increase the shrinkage potential about 10%
•YOU increase the possibility of seepage through the concrete by up to 50%
•YOU decrease the freeze-thaw resistance by 20%
•YOU decrease the resistance to attach by de-icing salt
•YOU lower the quality of the concrete in many other ways

WARNING!

USE OF DEICERS ON YOUR NEW DRIVEWAY, SIDEWALK, GARAGE FLOOR, OR PATIO COULD BE HARMFUL.....

1. Avoid using any deicing chemical the first winter if at all possible. Use only plain sand.

2. Never use deicers containing ammonium sulfate or ammonium nitrate. These products are commercial fertilizers. They will effectively melt existing snow and ice, but they will also rapidly disintegrate concrete.

3. Keep in mind that deicers are used routinely on roadways traveled daily and could be carried by vehicles onto your concrete surface.

PROTECTING YOUR CONCRETE FROM DEICERS AND THE HARSH WINTER ENVIRONMENT CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED  BY USING A SEALER.
